the thing that we always went out of mind

what else could it be if not for thinking of what to eat , and most of the time was for dinner . also the reason why both of us kept growing . late night dinner , close to supper . tsk tsk tsk ...

recently , i was having a short conversation with my girlfriend and i thought lets not burden our brains of thinking (again ) where to fill our tum tum and asked for her suggestion . since we are at lavender , she suggested to go Beach Rd ( the usual normal place when people go lavender ) . nope for us . it was only until how she enthusiastically describe how nice was the porridge she ate with her hubby . i dont really fancy porridge but because i trust her taste , we went for it .

located at 943 serangoon road singapore 328129 , this ADAM'S CORNER SEAFOOD RESTAURANT's taiwan porridge was really to die for !! ive never tasted such appetizing porridge like this because all i ever saw was one thats definitely not halal . forget about the lame bubur lambuk , bubur masjid and try this . for a $5.50 , i really think its worth all the money .

complete with kangkong , century egg , telor asin , sambal ikan bilis and that chilli kicap ....fuuuyoooh ... power la dey !!!!
see that big bowl of porridge ? both of us couldnt finish it . so its definitely worth every cents .

lets go bronze !

i got myself a bronzer lately . my only bronzer . the virgin one . as recommended by Wiwit , i popped over at body shop to take a look and found myself getting one .

what exactly is a bronzer ?

A bronzer is a powder or liquid cosmetic for your face. It usually gives your face a natural and clean "glow", without the harmful damage of tanning ofthe sun, if you feel that you are too fair skinned. Bronzer is not like a tanning lotion though, because it does not leave a permanent residue, on your face, and can be easily washed off along with other makeup.

and according to my friend whose a beauty adviser for Estee Lauder , you can apply bronzer all over the face for a sunglow effect or can also use to contour your face , also a replacement for your pink / peachy blusher on your cheeks . among her favourites was Estee Lauder , Body Shop and Bourjois .

i found the same bronzer in an article too !!

its a special edition bronzer from Body Shop . I have personally tried and i like it a lot . its also nice on your tanned skin too ! amazingly , it can also be used as a shadow colour on your lids . one palette with so many ways of application !

my very first assignment .

i have always love to look good and to me , looking good is not just by wearing the right apparels and shoes complete with accessories ( not too much though ) but being a woman , i am incomplete without painting colours on my face . yeah , i will never leave home without at least a powder on my face . and this is me , like it or not ;D

lately i have been approached by my two beautiful friends who wanted me to guide them personally on the basics of applying cosmetics . and of course i am super thrilled because i love to see my precious ones looking good too .

my appointment with sis ayu kept delaying of the fact that really, time didnt permits us to do so . i sincerely appologise for this . nevertheless , we finally make it today ! yes on the 7-11 ( think of the 24 hour store , so lame la me ) .

having to do it at my client's place is such a spendid choice . what a better way to learn at your own comfort home ! besides there's absolute no space over at my end . not until 2011 comes ;D

as i step into her luxury home ( my own definition ) , i go WOW . ooops, i have gone side-track here .
anyways , a few days back while making my way to work i saw how a lady apply powder on her face at a bus-stop . and i bet she was not alone . my own mum would do that to . you see , how frustrating it is to see that and i really wished that someone would  taught her the right way without damaging the beautiful skin . my mum ada stubborn sikit , wanna do her own way so i rest my arms .

giving some tips to sis ayu and guiding her step by step to achieving a polished look was my main objective . and im very glad she was able to learn something from me . heres an sms from her saying

" thanks sis for the make up tips ,. especially on the eyes part + putting on the eyelashes..its quite useful ."

Today I want to share with you where were the places that we last went to fill our tummy .

I was super craving for sambal stingray and as usual , we went to Newton and visit this Siti Khadijah stall each time we head there . I didnt notice the stall number , as we the hungry giants were so engrossed in choosing what to order . Perhaps the next time , I will definitely share with you so that you can try their stingray and sambal sotong !! Super power la ;)))

We wanted the fried little squid but unfortunately they dont have it . And so the friendly lady suggested this sambal sotong . Dont you think that it looks good from the picture ? I tell you , we went crazy over this . Its sizzling hot and spicy but it kept us going because it was ultra sedaaaap !!! We will definitely come back again for this sambal sotong !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

look at this fish . Honestly speaking , I wasnt much impressed . The sambal wasnt rich like it used to . Nevertheless , it was still yummy .

And how can we not missing this kailan for our vege ? The vege was cooked freshly , best eaten with the sprinkled fried onions . Simply yummy . hmmmmm....

Enough of seafood , occasionally we loved to eat western ones too just like Swensens , Manhattan Fish Market and etc . I remembered about an article in a magazine featuring Western Chow , yes another halal western cuisine but didnt manage to try it out until one fine day .

Did your eyes saw the big halal logo ? It was situated in a coffee shop in Bishan . For those who stay near Hougang or Sengkang can also pop over to their another store in Lorong Ah Soo . The amazing part was the bill . It was way much cheaper than Botak Favourites too !!

The only thing I was a bit unhappy was the number of salt they sprinkled on the fries . You saw ?? tsk tsk tsk ....

You can see that the fries was definitely trans-fat ! Now that I think , its the price verses the quality . So on days where pocket running a hole and you crave for a western food , run to Western Chow .

Next , have any one of you tried any halal vietnamese food ? We often passby this one but was hesitate to try until I thought of trying as we had no idea where to eat . At times , our mind went blanked .

Assist by the waiter , we then ordered these :-

it was defintely something new for us . vietnamese used less spice in their food and if you want to eat something thats healthy , go for Orange Lantern at Harbourfront .

Sweet little tooth

Chocolates especially from Van Houten , the first brand of chocolate and ice-cream are those of my escapades ,should I need little energy . Aside from all these fattening tools , I am a cheesecake junkie !
I just love to eat them and often went on cloud nine when it just melts in your mouth .

The only moments when I get to own them was only when I craved for it and only head down to Secret Recipe for they have a wide spread of cheesecakes that are Halal . Their award-winning marble cheesecake are simply awesome . Forget about the sinfulness , please .

Recently I'd taste a caramel cheesecake at Aunty Jun's place with the Jumalis . Rarely , a host would have cheesecake during Eid and when I took a bite of it , it was yummy that one piece was not enough . Well , never enough for me . And even more happier to know that it was made by the beautiful Sis Yanti , my cousin in-law . Didnt I told you that I always support my family members ?

So we placed an order of cheesecake after trying the different flavours at Sis Yanti's crib .

Just look at the thickness of this cheesecake !!!! Now, Im going to the freezer to have some .

And just look at this ! the strawberry are all over the place . According to Sis Yanti , she did not use puree but real fruits so the taste is so original .

Im glad to know that she made other flavours too .
